This is an exciting time in the history of Boyd Community Center and we invite you to become a part of it! The past few years have brought much change and growth for the Center. We have a new executive director, our first full time program director, several new staff members, a new board of directors, and new and expanding programming. If you haven’t been here recently, check us out! If you have, then you know these changes are just the beginning. Even more programs and special events are in the works, and planning for a new community center is under way. We are making these changes to better serve the community and we can’t do it without your help.
Why do we need your support?
Boyd Community Center is an independent nonprofit organization. While we receive some municipal support, we rely upon contributions, memberships, program fees, and rental income to keep our doors open. The generous support of members is essential to the fiscal health of the Center. Memberships support building upkeep, equipment and supplies, and programming costs. For the past many years the Community Center has operated at a deficit, and our operating cash reserve is almost depleted. Our goal this year is to increase the number of members by 25%, bringing our member rolls to 500 and providing 10% of our annual operating budget. One thousand members will erase the deficit!
